We met Kiera and Eli on the day of their wedding, because at the time they were living in Washington D.C. Kiera and Eli are one of the nicest couples we’ve worked with. They seemed to be a very caring people who also had a lot of people who cared about them. There weren’t too many dry eyes at their ceremony and many people had nice things to say about them at their reception. The flower girl and ring bearer at their wedding were so adorable, we couldn’t help but take a bunch of pictures of them, especially since they loved the camera and weren’t shy like many kids.
Through the years we’ve seen many of our couples come up with some creative guestbook ideas such as having their guest take photos of themselves with a Polaroid camera and gluing it onto a scrapbook, to signing on rocks and puzzles, to wishing trees and of course the engagement guestbooks, which we still love. Kiera had an idea that instead of having their guests sign a guestbook, she’d rather have a photo of them with the wishes they made written on a chalkboard. She arranged with us ahead of time to make sure we were able to fit that into their busy wedding schedule and it worked out great (with a few reminders to the guests of course). It kind of reminds us of a photobooth people do with the chalkboard but without all the crazy props and lighting. We love her idea, it’s very fun to read what some of their guests had to say, and how creative some of them were! Another unique thing they did that we’ve never seen before is during the bouquet/garter toss. Instead of tossing a bouquet of flowers and a garter, they both toss a paper bouquet filled with scratch tickets! Now that will get everyone on the dance floor! Even those that are not single will want to get in on this! Who wouldn’t want a chance to win a million dollar! =p That was totally different and fun to watch.
Lastly I would like to mention that some of my favorites shots are of Kiera and Eli at the end of the day when they were sent away by their family and friends. They threw lavendar seeds at the newly married couple as they head out to the car that awaited to sweep them away to their honeymoon. The expressions on their faces were priceless. Congrats again Kiera and Eli we wish you the best and thank you for sharing your special day with us!
