Say Goodbye to an old friend

Never thought I’d be a little sad to see a piece of equipment go. We ended up selling one of our cameras and lenses. I would say probably the best DX format camera out there (d300) and lens (17-55mm) I really enjoyed using the D300 as it was very good in every respect. Why sell it? Well we figured it was time to move one of our cameras up to an FX format. DX has it’s uses, the crop factor was nice for telephoto work and nice to carry around for Cindy =), lighter and more practical, but I felt we needed FX for the nice depth of field it provides.

I’ve kept my eyes on Nikon’s latest and greatest D700 and thought that it was a perfect fit. It has the size and lightness of a DX camera yet nearly all the functionality of it’s big brother the D3. After reading over all the reviews and testing the camera at camera stores, I thought it was the perfect time! Well since this was a goodbye post for the d300, I thought it fitting I post some of its final pics before I go post crazy with the d700 and all it can do. I forgot to mention a new lens was also added to the C2 Family, more on that later =).
