I haven’t written about a lens or gear in quite some time. We have been extremely busy and it looks like we will be busy for the rest of the year once wedding season starts! I guess I need to squeeze these gear related posts in while I can. I guess you can say this lens brings out the inner geek in me.
It’s about time! I’ve really been looking forward to the Nikon 24mm 1.4G ED AFS. I’ve heard rumors of this lens the past year, and found that this lens has been rumored for quite some time already. I wasn’t holding my breath, but when the official news broke today, I was very happy! This was the one lens that I had envied from Canon users.All of Nikon’s previous lenses in this range and speed were a little underwhelming. It’s wide and fast! The over $2000 price tag hurts a little, but I believe the images it will help create will be priceless. I’m excited that our clients this year will have the opportunity to be shot with this lens! If this lens possesses the same quality as Nikon’s newest lenses (24-70mm 2.8, 50mm 1.4G, 14-24mm 2.8, 70-200mm 2.8 VR II) I will be really happy! Here are some pics of the new lenses. The other lens, the 16-35mm f4G ED VR looks great as well. I’d imagine it will be great, but you can tell which lens I’m really excited about.
