Pallas and Mike started their day at Mike’s mom’s house where they performed a Tea Ceremony. The Tea Ceremony is where the bride and groom show their respect to their parents and the older generation. The tea ceremony is one of my favorite parts of some Asian weddings because of the colorful outfits that are worn.
After the tea ceremony we headed over to the Northlake Unitarian Universalist Chapel in Kirkland for their wedding ceremony. Once Pallas and Mike where pronounced husband and wife, they and their wedding party donned on some stunner shades and danced their way down the aisle for a fun and non traditional recessional!
Our original plan after their ceremony, was to take pictures indoor in downtown Seattle. Fortunately for them, the weather was just too nice. Instead we took photos at the Kirkland Waterfront Park. We didn’t have too much time because we needed to head to Seattle for their reception, but we were able to still get some fun creative photos.
Pallas and Mike held their wedding reception at one of Cindy and I’s favorite place for dim sum in Seattle, the New Hong Kong Restaurant . We were witness to some funny table games the guests would devise as the couple visited each table. One of the funny ones we included is where they would hang a piece of food for the groom to grab with his mouth only. Our job is always fun and even more fun when we get to photograph couples like Pallas & Mike. Thank you both!
