We started the day photographing Amanda and Buddy getting ready at Hotel Murano in Tacoma. When it was time for the reveal we headed down to the lobby. It brought us flashbacks of our own wedding because we were there over two years ago and did the same thing. Now we’re on the opposite end of the camera. We were surprised how busy it was that Saturday as we saw two other wedding parties at the hotel as well. With a little persistence we were able to pull of their reveal =) without Buddy seeing Amanda and without a ton of other people in the shot.
Their ceremony was held at a nice intimate outdoor setting at Priest Point Park Gardens in Olympia. The weather cooperated and it was actually sunny and warm! We always love when it works out for our clients.
Amanda and Buddy had a touch of an 80’s theme going on for their wedding reception at the Heritage Room in Olympia. The 80’s for sure is coming back! Or at least as a theme of a party as we also recently photographed an 80’s theme birthday party. They had Miami Vice, Macgyver, and other 80s shows as their table names, all sorts of 80s inspired stuff (Rubicks cubes, candies, etc) it was great!
Their first dance was so funny. It reflected much of their humor that we got to experience throughout the day. Instead of the traditional first dance where couples usually have a slow dance, these two started off as if they were going too, and then proceeded into the Chicken dance. Don’t think we’ve ever seen that before!
It was a beautiful wedding and congratulations to them both.
